Bollène

A sun-drenched Provençal town in the northern Vaucluse, set among lavender fields, vineyards and the timeless landscapes of the Rhône Valley.

Bollène, a Provençal Gateway to the Southern Rhône Valley

Situated in the northern Vaucluse department where Provence begins to assert itself with full force, Bollène is a town of easy charm and genuine southern character. Its medieval old town, perched on a gentle hill above the Rhône plain, retains much of its original character, with narrow stone streets, a Romanesque collegiate church and sweeping views over a landscape shaped by centuries of agriculture and Roman heritage. The town's strategic position along the Rhône corridor places it within comfortable reach of some of Provence's most celebrated destinations, including the papal city of Avignon, the wine villages of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the dramatic scenery of the Ardèche gorges to the north. The surrounding countryside, rich in olive groves, truffle oaks and Côtes du Rhône vineyards, invites leisurely exploration through markets, estates and traditional village life.
